Harvey Weinstein Article on Chuck Berry!

I am the Grandson of Joe Jordan, World Renown, Ragtime Composer and Grand Nephew of Eubie Blake. Also, My Uncle Lowell Jordan wrote Lou Rawls hit ” Whole Lotta’ Woman “. At the age of 67 and a Vocalist/Lyricist/Band Leader, Actor and Producer I am witnessing the loss of great entertainers in all genres! Chuck Berry is a Rock and Roll Guitar Genius who lead the way for many Artists to follow his Legacy! May he rest in peace as he joins God’s heavenly band! Also, a Documentary or Movie needs to be made covering his life and his contributions to American Music! I have a project to pay tribute to another Artist who was the original Delta Blues Man who influenced Blues Artist’s past and present by the name of Robert Johnson who is famous for his tunes ” Crossroad Blues ” and ” Sweet Home Chicago “. The project is an Indie Film titled ” Man with the Blues “. We should do the same for Chuck Berry! 90 is a good age to pass on to the other side. His spirit remains and his Legacy lives on!

However, we still don’t know any of the details.  PLU and UW are still negotiating. We must hold them accountable to create a process where the criteria are clear and the pathway is unobstructed.

While a fundraising campaign takes shape, any messages now should support the new path and expect there won’t be any new obstacles. In particular, the administration at the University of Washington has gone the extra mile to make this possible.

New contacts for Regents — this is the week to spread the word

CALL TO ACTION needed to oppose this acquisition!

Friends of 88.5 FM

Friends – this post is just a reminder that the crucial activity right now is to spread the word about what’s wrong with this proposed acquisition — and that alternatives are possible.

This webpage (below) has the main contacts — including several of PLU Board of Regents members:

Please send some emails and share the link with others. Many people still do not understand that KPLU is in imminent danger of being liquidated.

The Regents — at both PLU and UW — need to hear about how this process has been disrespectful, how it’s damaging PLU’s and UW’s reputations, and how it’s making donors question whether they can trust what the university will do with their money. The Regents should push for a more public process.
